Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a School Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a part-time contract in Carmichael, CA. The role involves interpreting between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and classroom participants to ensure full access to instruction and activities.

The interpreter will work 32 hours at a pay rate of $32 per hour, with responsibilities in educational settings and compliance with state and federal requirements.

Competenze

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Associates or Bachelors in interpreting, deaf studies or related field preferred.
• State Board Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate where applicable.
• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate where required.
• RID certification where required by state or client.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate as per contract or regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

The Educational Sign Language Interpreter is a trainedprofessional who facilities communication between deaf or hard-of-hearingstudents and others within an educational setting. Often, American SignLanguage (ASL) is used to interpret spoken language into sign language and viceversa, which ensures students have accommodations to classroom instruction,activities and learning discussions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language

• Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deafstudies or related field, preferred

• State Board of Education Initial Sign Language InterpreterCertificate (as applicable)

• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)

• Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
