Job summary

Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure learning environment. Under the supervision of the security team leader, you will screen visitor access, monitor attendance, and support security operations.

Candidates should have a High School diploma, be able to work flexible hours including weekends, and possess a Maryland Class C driver's license with First aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred; coursework in criminology, law enforcement, or related fields.
• Experience in welfare and safety of students or others, preferably in an educational environment.
• Certificate/license: Maryland Class C noncommercial driver's license; First aid and CPR certification.
• Preference to bilingual English/Spanish candidates; knowledge of safety procedures and practices.

Responsibilities

• Screen visitor access to school facilities and assist security team.
• Maintain student attendance and report irregularities.
• Assist in security operations and respond to incidents.
• Perform security patrols indoors and outdoors; withstand various weather.
• Work flexible hours including weekends and overtime as assigned.
