Job summary

Qualifications

• College hours, high school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Texas Driver License required or available transportation
• Level II security commission from the Texas Commission on Private Security
• Ability to record information
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
• Ability to work effectively with students
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Working knowledge of personal and property security techniques and electronic security systems
• Interest in working within an educational environment
• Maturity to work effectively with adolescents
• Previous experience as a security guard preferred

Responsibilities

• Protect students, staff, and District property under supervision
• Serve as a security resource to students and campus personnel
• Establish and maintain relationships with faculty and law enforcement serving the school community
• Identify unauthorized persons on campus and verify their authority
• Report all criminal offenses to the District police department
• Prepare and file all appropriate reports
• Appear in court/hearings as needed
• Provide adult presence during events at critical locations
• Coordinate security services with Katy ISD police personnel
• Provide assistance during disasters (e.g., hurricanes, tornadoes, fires)
• Inform Chief of Police of safety conditions affecting students and property
