Job summary

Allentown School District is seeking a Security Officer for Harrison-Morton Middle School to protect students, staff, and property. This 11-month position requires vigilant patrols, incident reporting, and ensuring doors and access points remain secure.

Candidates should have law enforcement or security experience or an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice and be able to complete required ASD training; the role offers a stable school-based environment with benefits and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Prior law enforcement or security experience, or an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice.
• Must complete required training programs satisfactorily as determined by the ASD.
• Consistent record of satisfactory work performance.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned building, grounds and halls to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
• Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows and gates to determine that they are secure.
• Confronts unauthorized persons for identification, routing and/or assistance or calls police for assistance according to emergency action plan.
• Responds as directed by the building administrator in matters of security.
• Patrols school grounds and adjacent areas as assigned to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
• Draft and submit written reports of security incidents and violations.
• Responds immediately to all requests for assistance in emergency situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned under contract.
