Job summary

Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit is seeking a School Police Officer to protect and maintain a safe environment for students and staff. The officer will enforce laws on school property, serve as a liaison with law enforcement, and participate in safety programs and crime prevention efforts.

The role requires an Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field (preferred) and demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams, with strong communication skills and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Investigates and takes action on allegations of criminal incidents per SPS protocols.
• Provides law enforcement services to the school, grounds, and buses.
• Acts as liaison between law enforcement and the school.
• Enforces state and local law and refers juveniles as needed.
• Prevents juvenile delinquency through positive relationships with students.
• Develops crime prevention programs and conducts security inspections.
