Job summary

Thompson School District seeks a security professional to act as the initial point of contact for safety and security needs. You will conduct comprehensive patrols, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with dispatch and emergency services to protect students, staff, and visitors.

The role requires rotating shifts after school hours and occasional short-notice calls. Starting pay is $26.03 per hour with benefits, under the Classified Salary Schedule, with a range to $42.37 per hour.

• Respond to calls for assistance from District employees, students, and the public on Thompson School District property.
• Conduct proactive and responsive patrols of campuses and property to enhance safety and security.
• Coordinate with emergency response agencies as needed and back up the District Dispatch Center.
• Provide guidance to security technicians and liaise with senior security leadership.
• Work rotating shifts, including after-school hours, and be available on short notice for emergencies or special events.

Job description

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manager, acts as a point of contact and responds to calls for assistance for all levels of security and potential emergency needs by District employees, students, and the public on Thompson School District property. Conduct comprehensive proactive and responsive patrols of District campuses and other property to ensure safety and security of students, staff, and visitors; and to help ensure the security of buildings and property. Provides back-up to the District Dispatch Center; responds to emergencies and takes necessary steps to address all emergencies; at times will be required to respond to matters pertaining to vandalism, theft, arson, personnel problems, etc.; works with appropriate emergency response agencies when necessary. This position will require work on rotating shifts that provide coverage after school hours. May be subject to being called in on short notice to assist in emergencies, special events or assignments, or to cover a shift in the event of illness. Act as a liaison between security technicians and senior security leadership. Provide immediate guidance to all security technicians in security response practices and process.
Starting rate of pay is $26.03 per hour plus benefits Range 21 - ($26.03 - $42.37) - Classified Salary Schedule
