Tucson Unified School District is seeking a School Safety Training Lieutenant to lead and coordinate security activities across district personnel, law enforcement, and community agencies. You will train and evaluate School Safety personnel and Campus Monitors to maintain a safe educational environment.

The role focuses on developing coordinated security programs, prioritizing calls for service with dispatchers, and ensuring secure district premises per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in criminal justice, social sciences or related field.
• 3 years as a law enforcement officer or school district security official.
• Or 7 years as a law enforcement officer or school district security official.
• Must be willing to carry and use security weapons including a firearm.
• 2 years supervisory experience.
• English verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading, supervising, and coordinating security activities between district personnel, law enforcement, and community agencies.
• Develop and implement coordinated security programs and methods.
• Prioritize security-related calls for service with dispatcher and coordinate responses.
• Oversee training, supervision and evaluation of School Safety personnel and Campus Monitors.
