Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a School Security Officer to help protect students, staff and visitors. You will patrol buildings and grounds, enforce policies, respond to incidents and assist law enforcement as needed.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years old, CPR/AED and First Aid certification, and prior security experience. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a schedule of 8 hours per day, 200 days per year.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of safety and security procedures and the ability to apply policies.
• Ability to investigate, collect statements, review footage, and prepare reports.
• Must be able to render first aid and CPR when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preventing personal injury and property loss through patrols, surveillance, and emergency response.
• Patrol buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter disruptions and unauthorized access.
• Enforce School Board policies and procedures relating to conduct on school property.
• Assist in investigations of student violations and search for illegal substances or weapons as directed.
• Coordinate with public safety and law enforcement during incidents and testify when needed.
