Job summary

The Folsom Cordova Unified School District is seeking a Coordinator of Safe Schools to develop and oversee the District’s Comprehensive Safe Schools Plan, coordinate emergency operations, and work with administrators, first responders, and community partners to keep learning environments safe and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least five years developing emergency operations plans.
• At least three years in K-12, law enforcement, firefighting, crisis management, or related field; NIMS coursework.
• Five years of law enforcement experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, train, and evaluate District and school site Comprehensive School Safety Plans in collaboration with administrators and first responders.
• Coordinate the implementation of the District’s emergency operations plan, policies, and procedures and evaluate effectiveness.
• Identify and accommodate potential unique needs of staff, students, family members, and community members in emergency planning and training.
• Coordinate District efforts to review, select, implement, and evaluate safety- and security-related devices, programs, applications, and services.
• Prepare and maintain required reports, records, and data related to safety operations, campus incidents, and suspensions.
