Job summary

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in health, safety or related field and Florida Firesafety Inspector I certification, or equivalent experience.

Strong communication skills are essential for reporting findings and coordinating corrective actions across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with specialization in health, safety, physical sciences or related field.
• Minimum of three years' experience in detailed building safety inspections involving casualty, fire and health/sanitation areas.
• Firesafety Inspector I certification from the State of Florida.
• Alternatively, certification as Florida Firesafety Inspector I with five years of related inspections.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regularly scheduled safety and health audits of School Board facilities.
• Investigate accidents or suspected hazards.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve safety.
• Maintain safety records and reports; ensure compliance with policies.
