Job summary

Palm Beach State College is seeking a District Fire Official to oversee administration and inspection of College facilities and construction projects, ensuring compliance with state and county codes. You will lead life safety reviews, coordinate with fire departments, and help staff, contractors, and vendors maintain clear, safe facilities across campuses.

The role emphasizes inspections, reporting, and staying current with safety standards, with opportunities for travel to trainings and events

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; minimum of four years related experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar application.
• Policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the position.
• Attention to detail with strong time and task management.
• Ability to interpret blueprint and related symbols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction inspections for compliance with Florida Fire Prevention Code.
• Provide specialized work on life safety and fire prevention.
• Submit inspection reports to the state with itemized, separate work orders for each campus.
• Perform annual and pre-event life safety plan reviews for assemblies.
• Review building specifications for code compliance.
• Coordinate with local fire departments to ensure compliance and cooperation.
• Travel to trainings and professional events as needed.
