Job summary

Amergis is seeking a School Registered Nurse (RN) in Tampa, FL to oversee the nursing process and deliver student care in a school setting. The RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students and promotes health and safety.

The School RN responds to medical emergencies, manages chronic conditions, and acts as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers, in line with Amergis policies and physician orders.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract.
• One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate per contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the nursing process and delivery of student care.
• Support the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students.
• Respond to medical emergencies in the school setting.
• Manage chronic health conditions among students.
• Serve as liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers.
