Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated school-based nurse (RN or LPN) to care for a student one-on-one in a Milwaukee-area school. The role emphasizes medical safety and access to education throughout the day.

The ideal candidate has pediatric experience, CP R/AED certification, and ventilator/trach care expertise, with driving privileges for on-site visits if needed. Standard school hours apply.

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN or LPN License required
• Current CPR and AED certification
• At least one year of pediatric experience preferred
• Experience or certification with ventilator and tracheostomy care is essential
• Must possess a valid Wisconsin drivers license
• Recent nursing practice: worked as an RN or LPN within the last two years, or completed a refresher course within the last year
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Support one student (1:1) in a school setting, focusing on medical safety and educational accessibility
• Monitor health status, provide treatments, and manage ventilator/trach care as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure holistic care
• Work standard school hours (most sites start at either 7:30 am or 8:00 am), up to 37.5 hours a week
• Serve as primary healthcare advocate and respond efficiently to emergencies or specialized medical issues
