Job summary

Central Jersey College Prep in Central Jersey is seeking a dedicated School Registered Nurse to promote and protect the health and safety of students and staff. You will provide direct healthcare services, manage student medical records, and collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare providers to create a safe, healthy learning environment.

Requirements include NJ RN license, CSN credential or eligibility, CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers, minimum two years of nursing experience

Qualifications

• Valid RN license issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
• Current NJDOE CSN credential or eligibility to obtain.
• Current CPR/AED Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience; pediatrics/emergency care/school health preferred.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Criminal background check and legal status in the U.S. required.

Registered Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Registered Nurse to join our team. The School Registered Nurse promotes and protects the health and safety of students and staff, provides direct healthcare services, manages student medical records, and collaborates with families, educators, and healthcare providers to foster a safe, healthy learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of New Jersey Board of Nursing.
• Current New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) Certified School Nurse credential (CSN) or Educational Services Certificate preferred (or eligibility to obtain).
• Current CPR/AED Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; clinical experience in pediatrics, emergency care, or school health preferred.
• Knowledge of New Jersey state public school health mandates, immunization regulations, and communicable disease reporting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Provide emergency care and first aid to students and staff in cases of acute illness, injury, or medical emergency.
• Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments in compliance with NJ State Department of Education guidelines and school board policies.
• Develop, update, and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with chronic conditions (e.g., allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures).
• Conduct state-mandated health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, height, weight, blood pressure) and maintain records.

Compliance & Record Management

• Maintain comprehensive, confidential student health records in compliance with NJ state law and FERPA/HIPAA regulations.
• Review, track, and enforce immunization requirements for student admission under NJ Department of Health regulations.
• Monitor and report communicable diseases to local health authorities and school administration as required.
• Serve as a health resource person on 504 Plan teams and the Child Study Team (CST) to assess health needs and recommend accommodations.
• Act as a liaison between the school, parents/guardians, primary care physicians, and community health resources.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding health assessments, illness policies, and health concerns.

School Health & Safety Education

• Promote healthy habits, wellness, and disease prevention across the school community.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-equipped health office.
• Provide health guidance and training to school staff on medical policies, CPR/AED, and Epinephrine administration as needed.
