Job summary

A public school district is seeking a School Psychologist for Windham High School. Job description

School Psychologist – Windham High School

Windham Public Schools is hiring a 1.0 FTE School Psychologist for Windham High School. The role includes individual and group counseling for students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs, comprehensive assessments, evaluation reports, and participation in PPT meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Administers standardized and supplemental assessments to measure student development and determine eligibility for services.
  • Assesses students’ functional capabilities and home/classroom environment to develop recommendations and placement plans.
  • Assists staff in designing and implementing student monitoring systems, academic and behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborates with specialists (autism consultants, behavior specialists, occupational & physical therapists, speech/language pathologists, etc.) to create and deliver student supports.
  • Compiles information from administrators, teachers, nurses, parents, mental health agencies, and other professionals to produce comprehensive screening/evaluation reports.
  • Interprets RIO data to intervene and determine eligibility.
  • Provides counseling to promote positive social skills and applies crisis intervention techniques.
  • Creates opportunities for students to practice skills related to IEP goals.
  • Utilizes clinical skills during individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Receives administrative and technical supervision from the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and general supervision from the building principal.
  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Public school experience with students displaying social/emotional/behavioral needs.
