Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a School Psychologist to provide direct and indirect social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health services for students from preschool through high school. You will collaborate with families, school administrators, educators, and other professionals to create supportive learning environments and to guide psycho-education assessments.

The role requires a Master’s in School Psychology, Colorado SPS license, and experience with cognitive and socio-emotional

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or higher in School Psychology.
  • Current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License - School Psychologist.
  • Experience administering and interpreting cognitive, learning, and socio-emotional assessments.
  • Experience using consultation techniques to address learning and behavior problems.
  • Experience with culturally diverse populations.
  • Commitment to equity and high-quality education for all students.
  • Residency in Colorado and ability to meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with staff and parents, make recommendations for developmentally appropriate services and strategies to assist in improving student achievement.
  • Participate in crisis management by assessing risk, providing interventions, and making community referrals.
  • Provide social and emotional intervention for students (in groups and individually).
  • Consult with parents and school staff in the development of appropriate behavior goals/interventions.
  • Evaluate the need for cognitive and social and emotional support under Section 504 and IDEA. Interpret assessment data and develop goals to meet individual student needs.
  • Support district initiatives on social and emotional learning.
  • May participate in extra-duty activities as outlined in the teachers' collective bargaining agreement (coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, etc.).
