Qualifications

  • Masters or doctoral degree in school psychology from an accredited program.
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement.
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and interpreting assessment data.
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA and special education laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and admins.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced school.
  • Proficiency with assessment tools, data management systems, and technology.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations of cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning.
  • Interpret assessment results to inform IEPs and intervention strategies.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review progress and recommend services.
  • Consult with teachers on classroom management and evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide staff training on mental health, behavior management, and crisis prevention.
  • Serve as a resource on child development, learning disabilities, and mental health.
  • Maintain confidential records of assessments and counseling sessions in compliance with laws and ethics.
  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in school psychology.
  • Collaborates with educational professionals regarding student needs.
  • Provides consultation to classroom teachers on instructional adaptations.
  • Performs other comparable duties as assigned.
