Job summary

Katy ISD is seeking a School Psychologist to provide psychological consultation, assessment, counseling, and educational support across campuses in the district. This role reports to the Coordinator for Psychological Services and requires collaboration with administrators, teachers, and families.

The position involves crisis intervention, IEP/504 involvement, and contributing to individualized education planning. Strong communication and data-driven decision making are essential.

Qualifications

• Doctorate/Master’s degree in psychology or related field required.
• Valid TSBEP licensure as School Psychologist required.
• Experience in consultation, counseling and assessment.
• Ability to deliver psychological services in a comprehensive delivery model.
• Knowledge of Special Education service delivery.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with school and community populations.
• Minimum one year experience providing psychological services in a school setting (internship/supervision included).
• General knowledge of computer systems and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation to parents, campus and district staff.
• Provide group and/or individual counseling to students in need.
• Assist in determining interventions and evaluate effectiveness.
• Provide supervision to interns and/or other personnel.
• Observe teachers to provide classroom management strategies.
• Conduct evaluations for students with severe behavioral needs.
• Co-facilitate group counseling with campus counselors or trained personnel.
• Assist campuses with 504 conferences.
• Provide recommendations for behavioral management techniques.
• Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
• Assist in writing behavior intervention plans and IEPs.
• Participate in meetings such as Admission, Review, and Dismissal.
