Job summary

Pittsylvania County Schools is seeking a School Psychologist to support evaluation and guidance services in our elementary/secondary setting. The role emphasizes testing, reporting, collaboration with staff and families, and participation on IEP teams.

The position requires NCATE-approved psychology training and Virginia school psychologist certification, with experience in public schools preferred. Full-time, school calendar days, benefits per board policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a NCATE approved program in school psychology.
• Appropriate state teacher certification as a school psychologist.
• Experience in the public school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer IQ and achievement tests to determine eligibility for services.
• Provide written reports of assessments for student evaluations.
• Collaborate with building and district staff to meet student needs.
• Make recommendations for additional medical, psychological or psychiatric information as needed.
• Participate as an IEP team member with behavioral assessments and plans.
• Collaborate with outside agencies, parents and teachers to support students.
• Review student records for screening and evaluation processes.
• Provide group and individual social skills lessons.
