Job summary

South Bend Community School Corp is seeking a School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services, coordinate evaluations, and consult with staff and parents on educational issues. Location will be determined and the position runs for the school year with a teacher contract.

Responsibilities include MDT coordination, assessments within timelines, IEP components, case conferences, and collaboration with educators. Travel among schools and supervision alignment are expected.

Qualifications

• State of Indiana Professional Educator’s License-School Psychologist.
• Applicant must have a history of meeting mandated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multi-disciplinary team evaluations on students referred in public, and non-public schools.
• Conduct informal, curriculum-based, and/or standardized assessments within mandated timelines.
• Inform instruction and services using student background and characteristics.
• Prepare comprehensive written multidisciplinary team reports on all students evaluated.
• Complete required components of Indiana IEP.
• Attend case conferences to interpret results for parents and staff.
• Collaborate with Special Education administrators, general and special education staff, principals, and support staff.
• Provide technical assistance regarding special education policies and procedures.
• Consult with staff and parents on curriculum and instructional practices.
• Participate in intervention team meetings and select interventions.
• Provide in-service training for staff, parents, and community.
• Conduct individual and/or group counseling as training allows.
• Engage in staff development and collaboration with community agencies.
