Job Summary:

Cove is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to support our mission by providing needs-based behavioral and social-emotional services to students, parents, and staff. Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, consultation with students and teachers, assessment, behavior planning, intervention, and prevention of social-emotional concerns.

Schedule:

  • Full-time (10 Month Contract)
  • 2025-2026 School Year
  • Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 3:45 pm, except Thursdays 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Optional Five Week Extended School Year Program

Requirements:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with a School Psychologist endorsement
  • Experience with special education students with significant learning disabilities preferred
  • Familiarity with CBT preferred
  • Experience writing social histories preferred
  • Experience developing and monitoring behavior plans
  • Experience providing staff professional development
  • Knowledge of learning processes and instructional interventions

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in developing and implementing program policies
  • Assess students' social and emotional needs; provide counseling
  • Follow up on referrals
  • Coordinate services with external agencies
  • Establish referral networks
  • Participate in staff meetings and presentations
  • Write measurable IEP goals
  • Advocate for students and mediate among parents, students, and staff
  • Available for crisis intervention
  • Attend team meetings
  • Implement program philosophy and objectives
  • Participate in after-school activities as needed
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
  • Perform other duties as required

Reports to: Clinical Director

The Cove School is a non-public therapeutic day school for students with learning disabilities in Northbrook, IL. We serve students from 60 public schools and offer small classes, flexible teaching, and collaborative related services.
