City Schools Of Decatur seeks a School Physical Therapist to develop and coordinate a comprehensive in-school physical therapy program, conducting screenings, evaluations and intervention services for students.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in physical therapy and a Georgia licensure, and will collaborate with teachers, parents and medical staff to implement IEP/504 plans, adapt learning environments and advocate for student participation in educational activities.

Formación

• Degree in physical therapy and Georgia license to practice.
• Eligible to provide physical therapy within Georgia schools.

Responsabilidades

• Adhere to professional, ethical and legal standards of practice.
• Gather information from students, parents, guardians and other team members regarding functional motor performance in the school setting.
• Select, administer and interpret screening instruments and standardized tools.
• Partner with school staff and administration to promote an effective PT plan of care for students.
• Provide physical therapy to students in accordance with Georgia PT Act.
• Evaluate students’ strengths and needs to determine participation in school activities.
• Adapt environments to facilitate student access and participation in education.
• Act as a consultant to school personnel, parents and students to coordinate PT services.
• Participate in IEP/504 process to determine need for PT as related service or reasonable accommodation.
• Communicate and collaborate with colleagues, supervisors and students.
• Demonstrate consultative skills in conferences with parents, teachers and students.
• Maintain documentation of services rendered using the assigned technology.
• Refer students to related services and healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Serve as liaison among school, medical personnel, and equipment vendors.
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication, organization and time management.

Educación

Degree in Physical Therapy (GA-licensed)
