Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group in Reading, PA is seeking a Part-Time School-Based Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support PreK-12 students in a year-round special education program. This role provides 1:1 or 2:1 support and assists with personal care, ensuring students stay engaged throughout the school day.

Onsite position with 28 hours per week, 8:00 AM–3:30 PM window, paying $20-$23 per hour. Start mid-November as a W-2 employee within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of classroom special education experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to provide personal care, including toileting and diapering.
• Ability to complete required background checks and TB test.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Authorization to work in the United States; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or 2:1 student support throughout the program day.
• Assist with personal care and ADLs, including feeding, toileting, diapering.
• Provide behavioral support and intervention using positive reinforcement and safety procedures.
• Provide emotional support and general academic assistance.
• Collect and document data as directed by the teacher and program team.
• Support student participation in classroom instruction and program activities.
