Job summary

ESC North Coast Shared Services Alliance in Independence, Ohio is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support NCSSA payroll operations across member districts. The role involves processing payroll, withholdings, direct deposits, and related reporting for multiple districts.

You will collaborate with Human Resources, verify salary calculations, and ensure accurate data flow for payroll operations. The position requires 2+ years of payroll experience and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years payroll processing experience required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
• Experience with payroll, garnishments and automated timesheets.
• Payroll tax issues experience preferred.
• Ability to travel to multiple districts/entities.
• Effective communication with students, colleagues and administration.
• Ability to read and interpret policy manuals and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide payroll services to member districts as needed.
• Process payroll for all employees including withholdings and direct deposit.
• Coordinate salary and fringe benefit budgeting/reporting and cash transfers.
• Maintain employee payroll files and EMIS data.
• Develop/update payroll policies and procedures manuals.
• Train and advise staff on payroll policies and systems.
• Process tax data and quarterly reconciliations for reporting.
• Prepare and submit W-2s and other IRS/state filings.
• Assist with district reports for state and auditors.
