Job summary

Gem Prep is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee non-instructional functions, ensure compliance, and drive operational excellence across facilities, nutrition, transportation, enrollment, health and safety, and student information systems.

The role partners with the Principal and DOO/COO to manage budgets, supervise receptionist and nutrition staff, and lead safety protocols. Strong communication, budgeting, and problem-solving are essential.

• Experience in school operations management.
• Knowledge of school safety rules and procedures.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
• Strong financial report writing skills.
• Mid-level analysis skills.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Budgeting skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Oversee non-instructional functions, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and drive operational excellence.
• Support Principal and instructional staff across nutrition, transportation, enrollment, health and safety, and facilities.
• Supervise receptionist and nutrition staff; train and develop teams.
• Lead enrollment activities, including recruitment, waitlists, and lottery communications.
• Coordinate with DOO/COO to complete required reports and compliance.
• Manage student pick-up/drop-off processes; liaise with COO and busing vendor.
• Oversee school supply budgets, field trip budgets, and deposits.
• Attend weekly team and supervisor meetings; participate in safety protocols.
• Drive system improvements to optimize school operations.
