Qualifications

• Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program.
• Unencumbered RN license and APRN license with national certification in AGACNP (or NY eligibility).
• Three to five years in higher‑education nursing with a record of teaching, service, and research.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs within a shared governance setting.
• Teach using a variety of strategies—lecture, lab/clinical, online, and hybrid.
• Support Boyer model of scholarship across teaching, discovery, application, implementation, and engagement.

Summary

D’Youville’s Patricia H. Garman School of Nursing is seeking an outstanding candidate to join our faculty in a part‑time capacity, to provide leadership in teaching, service, and scholarly activity. Candidates of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Faculty rank will be commensurate with education and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Faculty members are responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs within a shared governance setting. Teaching includes a variety of active strategies—lecture, lab/clinical, online, and hybrid—to meet diverse student learning styles. The role supports the Boyer model of scholarship (teaching, discovery, application, implementation, engagement). Service activities include office hours, meetings of Nursing teams and University Assembly, mentoring students, and community engagement. Teaching commitments are limited to 15–18 credit hours per academic year (Spring/Fall) with up to 9 credits during the summer session.

Qualifications

• Education: (Preferred) Earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Master’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program. Unencumbered RN license and APRN license with national certification in AGACNP (or eligibility in New York).
• Experience: (Preferred) Three to five years in higher‑education nursing with a record of teaching, service, and research.
