Job description

The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business of San José State University welcomes applications for part‑time faculty appointments to teach courses in its undergraduate programs on its main campus in San José, California.

Responsibilities

We are seeking lecturers who are interested in teaching at the undergraduate level. Primary duties include:

• Delivering lectures and facilitating learning during scheduled class time.
• Providing weekly office hours and advising students.
• Creating and evaluating student exams and assignments.
• Organizing all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Maintaining attendance and course schedules as assigned, ensuring all classes meet as planned.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree from an accredited university, business school, or law school.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience and/or significant university teaching experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices and sensitivity to a culturally diverse student population.
• Faculty candidates must be prepared to teach in the areas of: Strategic Management, Business Law, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory, Human Resource Management, Business and Society, Ethics, and Introduction to Business.
• Applicant status for a current Ph.D. program should be clearly stated.

Preferred Qualifications

• Presence of relevant scholarly or applied research experience in the School of Management’s areas of emphasis.
• All applicants will be evaluated against AACSB qualification standards.

Compensation

• L‑A / Range 2 – $5,507 – $5,959 per month
• L‑B / Range 3 – $6,221 – $7,481 per month
• L‑C / Range 4 – $6,825 – $9,431 per month
• L‑D / Range 5 – $8,593 – $10,347 per month
• Part‑time rates are prorated based on full‑time annual salaries.
