The Associate Director of the Dan K. Webb Center for Advocacy works with the Director of the Center for Advocacy to coordinate and expand curricular offerings in trial practice to meet ABA Standards. The Associate Director teaches trial practice courses and recruits, trains and supports adjunct faculty teaching trial practice courses. The Associate Director also provides mentoring and advising to students interested in trial practice.

The Associate Director assists the Director in engaging with alumni and the legal community and planning events for students, alumni and other identified constituencies, including hosting competitions, CLE programs, conferences, and lectures. The Associate Director also coordinates and assists with Center competition teams.

The responsibilities of the position will include:

Teaching trial practice courses;

Assisting with the development of curriculum for the Advocacy Center;

Promoting advocacy programming in hybrid format for our part-time/weekend JD division;

Engaging with alumni and the legal community and planning events for students, alumni and other identified constituencies, including hosting competitions;

Active involvement in student mentoring and advising;

Supervising and training Advocacy Center faculty;

Planning and hosting CLE programs, conferences, and lectures;

Coordinating and assisting with competition teams;

Service to the School of Law, University, and community;

Significant engagement with academic institutions and professional organizations, including frequent participation in local, regional, and national meetings and symposia.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a JD from an accredited institution;

Trial experience

Demonstrated devotion to teaching and mentoring students;

A Research Agenda;

Strong commitment to social justice issues; and

Experience coaching mock trial teams is also desired.

Open Date 03/25/2025 Close Date Salary Range $62,500 - $104,000 Additional Salary Information This salary range is for a twelve-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
