Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for a/an Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing to begin Fall 2025.

This is a three (3) year, non-tenure track, faculty appointment with the potential of renewal based on annual evaluations. Regular attendance on-campus is not required as this is a remote position but candidate is expected to attend the annual faculty assembly meeting in person, faculty onboarding, and one commencement ceremony. All other college meetings can be attended virtually. Primary duties will include teaching assigned nursing courses in the graduate program (up to 15 semester credit hours per semester); supervising and evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experiences; implementing and evaluating courses as needed; servicing on and participating in college and university committees; advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate; and completing other duties as assigned by the Director of MSN Programs, the Dept. Chair, or Dean. Duties also include developing and evaluating program curriculum. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

The Dr. F.M. Canseco School of Nursing is an accredited program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON).

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate in Nursing from an accredited institution. ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before the appointment; experience and knowledge of online delivery methods, distance education and/or hybrid education; and an active unencumbered/unrestricted license to practice nursing in the State of Texas. We strongly encourage candidates with prior experience teaching in a graduate nursing education program; effective communication skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and experience with ACEN accreditation standards.

Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
