Job summary

Nimble seeks a motivated individual for a school cafeteria role in Merrillville, IN. The Assistant Manager will supervise meal service, train staff, and help with end-of-day tasks. He/she will eventually be molded into a Manager and learn inventory, ordering, and daily production routines.

Requirements include cooking with institutional recipes, math proficiency, and fluency in English. Familiarity with Excel/Word and POS systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Cooking experience with institutional recipes as written.
• Must have good math skills.
• Computer knowledge using Excel and Word is necessary.
• Understanding and using the Point of Sale Cashiering System is a plus.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff during meal service to ensure correct components and portions.
• Train new employees and assist with end of day paperwork.
• Assist manager with kitchen, storeroom, freezers and refrigerators maintenance.
