Job summary

The State of Oklahoma seeks an Assistant Food Service Manager II to support daily food service operations for the Sooner Job Challenge, serving up to 100 people per meal, seven days a week, with USDA National School Meals program involvement.

Responsibilities include coordinating purchasing, planning, preparation, serving, inventory, scheduling staff, and maintaining records; ensure safety and sanitation; review menus; and provide training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary arts, food management or similar, with 1 year supervisory experience.
• Experience supervising staff or inmates in a food service setting.
• Experience working with youth is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing, food planning, preparation, serving and inventory control.
• Supervise staff and prepare work schedules.
• Create and maintain food production records per guidelines.
• Review menus and ensure proper portions and special diets.
• Update standard operating procedures as needed.
• Present findings to supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings and provide training.
• May supervise student workers in dining facility.
