Job summary

Colonial School District is seeking a School Nutrition General Worker – Substitute to support breakfast and lunch service across district locations. This casual/seasonal role involves setting up serving lines, preparing and delivering meals, cashiering, dishwashing and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

Hours are assigned (approximately 3 hours per day). The position is non-guaranteed and as-needed, with a closing date of 2027-06-30 and a start date as needed throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to follow instructions and take initiative.
• Have willingness to learn or knowledge of meal pattern requirements as specified by the USDA Child Nutrition Program.
• Must be willing to attend District sponsored in-services and ServeSafe certification.
• Must be willing to cashier.
• Display personal cleanliness and uphold sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Shall be able to work in all areas of the kitchen as assigned by the Manager/Lead Worker.
• Shall accept alternating assignments in food preparation, serving, cashiering, dishwashing and cleaning.
• Follow safe food handling practices and maintain health, sanitation and safety standards.
• Learn to operate, care for and clean School Nutrition equipment.
• Record daily food and supplies from storerooms and freezers.
• Assist coworkers to expedite work and promote the School Nutrition program.
