Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Follow Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations.
• Complete USDA continuing education training as required.
• Stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and service of food according to the written menu and supervisor's instructions.
• Perform food storage; inventory control; equipment cleaning; sanitation tasks.
• Operate food service equipment per established procedures.
• Participate in CNP activities including cashier, server, and dish machine tasks.
• Maintain professional dress, hygiene, and safety in kitchen and dining areas.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and community members.
• Report problems and maintain accurate records and reports.
