Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Follow verbal and written instructions with good interpersonal skills.
• Follow Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations.
• Use technology as required for duties.
• Complete USDA continuing education training.
• Stamina to stand and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Punctuality and regular attendance.
• Alternative qualifications may be required by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food prep and service per menu and supervisor instructions.
• Perform storage, inventory, sanitation, and related tasks.
• Operate food service equipment per procedures.
• Participate in rotation and CNP activities (cashier, server, backup, dish).
• Maintain professional dress and hygiene for food service.
• Observe kitchen safety precautions.
• Cooperate with staff to uphold program standards.
• Follow instructions and communicate with CNP staff, vendors, and community.
• Participate in in-service training and continuing education programs.
• Demonstrate professional growth and ethics.
• Perform duties courteously and maintain confidentiality.
• Identify problems or improvement opportunities.
