Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District in El Paso, Texas, seeks a Food Service Worker to assist in the efficient maintenance and supervision of a school nutrition program under the direction of the principal and cafeteria manager.

Responsibilities include overseeing campus operations, supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and quality, managing inventories and reports, and supporting NSLP/Breakfast programs in accordance with policies and state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Food Handler's Card required.
• Three (3) years food service experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Valid TX/NM driver’s license/ID card; subject to district screening policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee campus school nutrition operations with the principal and cafeteria manager.
• Supervise kitchen personnel in production, service, and cleanup operations.
• Operate the food service program with effective money and inventory accounting.
• Maintain food and supply inventories and reorder as needed.
• Ensure food is produced safely and meets quality standards per policies.
• Prepare reports and data entry as directed by the cafeteria manager.
• Implement National School Lunch and Breakfast program policies.
• Recommend equipment replacement needs.
• Instruct staff in safety and sanitation procedures.
• Read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area.
• Attend the work site to meet essential functions of the job.
