Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a Food Service Clerk to manage information distribution and eligibility for the free and reduced meals program within the Child Nutrition operations in El Paso. You will maintain accurate records, process deposits, and support meal sales reporting and cash handling.

You will explain eligibility criteria to families, prepare daily and snack bar reports, and assist in meal preparation while upholding USDA and district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2 years of helper/cashier experience or 5 years of helper/cashier experience preferred.
• Ability to handle money quickly and accurately; read, write and follow directions in English; possess a current Food Handler's Card or obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Distribute information and applications for free and reduced meals.
• Explain eligibility criteria and procedures to parents and students.
• Process and maintain a permanent file of applications by eligibility.
• Implement USDA program policies and procedures.
• Maintain meal participation dates and prepare daily sales reports.
• Assist in meal preparation and read/write directions as needed.
