Qualifications

• Knowledge of large-scale food service operations and related equipment.
• Ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate a school food service kitchen.
• Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate subordinate personnel and student workers.
• Knowledge of record keeping and inventory reporting methods.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, supervises, and coordinates activities of a food service production center.
• Prepares food in large quantities according to menus.
• Trains and evaluates subordinate personnel and student staff.
• Maintains records and logs for student assistants and time sheets.
• Ensures food is stored, cooked, and served safely and hygienically.
• Receives deliveries and inspects quantities and quality.
• Monitors cash handling and reporting of tickets collected.
• Maintains inventories, nutrition sheets, and production records.
• Ensures safe operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Computes and orders food quantities and supplies.
• Participates in various food service operations as needed.
