Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) seeks a Manager: School Nutrition Level 1 to oversee an elementary school cafeteria, including meal preparation, service, inventory, ordering, and sanitation, with supervision of School Nutrition Associates.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or Equivalency, at least 6 months of food service experience with back-up managerial duties, plus ServSafe Manager certification and a valid Maryland driver’s license; daily transportation is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
• Six (6) months food service experience with demonstrated "back-up" managerial experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrates sound decision making and problem solving techniques.
• Ability to delegate and motivate personnel.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to USDA guidelines and AACPS policies; ensures meals meet meal requirements.
• Maintains food quality through supervision of operation and standard recipes/portion controls.
• Plans preparation, cooking and serving of food; follows standard operating procedures.
• Orders, transports and stores appropriate quantities of food and supplies; manages inventory.
• Maintains sanitation and safety per COMAR and HACCP; accompanies safety practices.
