Job summary

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, ServSafe certification, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or satisfactory completion of state approved HSE.
• One year of satisfactory school nutrition or food service management experience.
• Completion of ONE course; Manager and Culinary Pathway coursework; CCSD Manager in Training within one year of placement.
• Passing score on ServSafe National Certification test.
• General knowledge of quantity food service, sanitation and nutrition.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Strong leadership skills and prior experience in food production in cooking or baking recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of food production: cooking, baking, serving, cashiering and other duties.
• Assist in maintaining production points for safety, quality and quantity.
• Assist in maintaining accurate records in compliance with federal, state and local procedures.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Enforce sanitation practices and require high standards of grooming and hygiene.
• Train staff in use and care of food service equipment.
• Lead and train other personnel and follow instructions.
• Maintain ServSafe certification.
• Create an atmosphere in the cafeteria to promote student and staff participation.
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, admins and community.
• Work with peers and supervisors in a cooperative manner.
