Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a cafeteria support associate for a 3.75-hour shift Monday through Friday when school is in session. Duties include operating and maintaining the dish machine, cleaning dishroom areas, sinks, and conveyor belts, and ensuring dishes are ready for service.

Must be able to lift 35 pounds and participate in required food handler training. Ideal candidates communicate effectively with students and staff, have basic computer skills, and are willing to learn the Point of Sale

Qualifications

• Good communication skills including writing and reading abilities; must communicate with students, staff, administration and the public.
• Some computer knowledge helpful and willingness to learn Point of Sale cashiering system.
• Applicant must be able to push, pull or lift items weighing at least 35 pounds. Attending job-related training provided by the School Nutrition Dept. during probation.
• Must be able to pass Food Handler Test with a passing score.

Responsibilities

• Sets up dish machine and operates it; keeps dish room areas clean and records dish machine logs daily.
• Break down and clean dish machine after lunch; clean all sinks in dish room daily.
• On Friday, delime dish machine and conveyor belts; sweep and mop all dish room areas daily.
• Ensure all dishes are clean and put away at end of day; come in early when needed; perform other duties as assigned by Cafeteria Manager.

DUTIES:Sets up dish machine, operates dish machine, keeps all dish room areas clean and record dish machine logs daily.Break down and clean dish machine after lunch is served. Clean all sinks and both hand sinks in dish room area daily.On Friday – clean and delime dish machine and conveyor belts.Sweep & mop all dish room areas daily. Ensure that all dishes are clean and put away at the end of the day. Must be willing to come in early when needed and any other duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager.
