Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group seeks a District Manager to oversee school nutrition programs across multiple facilities, driving operational excellence and strong client relationships. You’ll lead General Managers, ensure financial performance, and promote engaging student-focused meal concepts.

The role emphasizes travel (90%), leadership development, compliance with USDA/state regulations, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in food service management, nutrition, culinary arts, business or related field.
• At least 10 years of food service management experience, including 7+ years in K-12 school nutrition.
• ServSafe certification required; SNS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership to General Managers and on-site teams across multiple facilities.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure regulatory compliance (USDA/state/local).
• Oversee budgets, forecasting and financial performance to meet district goals.
• Lead district-wide meetings and coach managers for professional development.
• Travel to sites (90% travel) to support operations and ensure high service standards.
• Support new account openings, transitions, and new initiatives.
