Job summary

Unified School District No in Shawnee, KS is seeking a Student Nutrition Assistant for Monticello Trails Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The position covers a 6-hour shift from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and includes food prep, serving meals, and sanitation tasks within the school nutrition program.

The starting wage is $15.60 per hour, commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is August 14, 2026. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Current TB test is required (or recent test within 12 months)
• Must pass standardized strength & agility testing including lifting up to 50 pounds
• Submit pre-employment physical prior to first day of work
• Completion of Food Safety Basics Class within 2 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods from recipes or instructions.
• Clean and properly store equipment and utensils.
• Observe health and sanitation regulations.
• Receive, unpack, store, and rotate food and supplies.
• Serve food to students and staff.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, serving areas, and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Nutrition Kitchen Manager
