Job summary

Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs is seeking a part-time food service assistant to help prepare and serve meals for the Nutrition School Lunch Program. You will work under the Kitchen Manager, ensuring safe, nutritious meals and friendly service.

Responsibilities include stocking inventory, operating POS and district computers, cleaning, and opening/closing kitchen duties. Requires a high school diploma and basic food safety training within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0-2 years food service experience preferred.
• Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
• Basic Food Safety Class within six months of hire and renewal upon expiration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for students and staff in a safe, sanitary kitchen.
• Maintain excellent relations with students, staff and parents.
• Stock and price inventory in milk and drink coolers and other storage areas.
• Set up serving line and equipment for meals.
• Sanitize dishes, equipment, floors, tables, sinks, etc., after meals.
• Remove all trash and waste and ensure sanitary eating areas.
• Operate point of sale and district computer systems as needed.
• Complete opening and closing kitchen preparations including cleaning and stocking.
