Job summary

School District 27J in Brighton, CO is seeking a food service helper to assist in preparing meals and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment. You will follow standardized recipes, operate institutional equipment, and ensure servings meet federal, state, and local nutrition guidelines.

This role is 2–6 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday, with a 154-day, 9-month schedule. Starting pay is $18.58 per hour, with no benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of high school or equivalent or on-the-job training.
• Basic math, interpersonal, and communications skills.
• Ability to deal with children and children with special needs.
• Must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical.
• Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing meals following instructions on standardized recipes, including operating equipment and maintaining sanitation as required.
• Portion food correctly to meet guidelines.
• Wash trays, utensils, dishes, pans, etc.
• Mop, sweep, and clean kitchen work areas and equipment.
