Job summary

Atlantic County Vocational School District seeks a Student Support Services/Substitute School Nurse to promote health and safety at Atlantic County Institute of Technology. You will provide health services to students, faculty and staff, and assist in teaching sound health practices.

Responsibilities include arriving on time, supervising students, delivering emergency care, and coordination with the Principal and other nurses.

Qualifications

Valid New Jersey School Nurse Substitute Certificate.
RN license required and school health nursing expertise.
Ability to manage emergencies in school settings.
Knowledge of child growth, health issues and wellness education.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Reports to the office upon arrival at school.
Checks messages and materials requiring immediate attention.
Requests clarification of school rules and procedures if necessary.
Greet students on schedule and remain in the assigned area to supervise.
Maintains the established routines and procedures of the nurse's office.
Supports the other school nurses.
Provides emergency care and administers first-aid per policies.
Notifies Principal or designee to arrange for immediate examination of any pupil under influence of alcohol or drugs.
Performs other duties within the scope of employment and certification.
