Responsibilities

• Administers first aid according to established procedures; conducts health screenings; maintains accurate student medical records.
• Administers first aid or nursing care for accidents, seizures, preventive medicine and medical issues as necessary.
• Conducts health screenings (height, weight, vision, hearing, scoliosis, head lice) and observes students to detect health needs.
• Refer students to appropriate personnel, resources or clinics and follow-up as needed.
• Maintains health records and medical logs; updates immunizations and records; submits medical reports as required; complies with laws and district policies.
• Dispenses and retains medications and provides medical treatment per physician's instructions within district guidelines.
