Job summary

Retired Nurses in Lowell, MA is seeking a dedicated school nurse for a contract opportunity near Malden. You will support students' daily well-being, promote health education, and help create a safe, supportive atmosphere for children and staff.

The ideal candidate holds an active, unrestricted MA RN or LPN license, with school or pediatric experience preferred. You will handle medications, coordinate care plans, and work with families to ensure privacy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted MA RN or LPN license.
• Experience in school or pediatric setting preferred.
• Familiarity with IEPs, meds & emergency procedures.
• Good communication with students, parents & faculty.
• Strong critical thinking, organization & decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including medication administration and treating injuries/illnesses.
• Monitor chronic health conditions and develop care plans as needed.
• Maintain health records in compliance with privacy laws and school policies.
• Participate in student health screenings and immunization verification.
• Educate students and staff about health and hygiene practices.
• Serve as a health resource and advocate for students and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student well-being.
