Job summary

Lowell Public School District is seeking a School Health Nurse to develop and manage a comprehensive school health program for the district’s student population in Lowell, MA.

The role requires MA RN licensure with two years in community or child health; BSN is preferred. You will work with school physicians and administrators to implement health services, training, and emergency plans across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid MA RN license.
• Two years of community or child health experience prior to school nursing practice.
• BSN from NLN-accredited program preferred.
• Certified school nurse status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and manages a comprehensive school health program per MA guidelines and district policy.
• Consults with the school physician and administrators to develop policies and programs.
• Orients trains and evaluates health staff to comply with Nurse Practice Act and regulations.
• Collaborates with teams to identify at-risk students and coordinate health services.
• Develops health plans and maintains comprehensive health records for students.
• Monitors immunization surveillance, screenings, and emergency response planning.
