Job Description/Responsibilities

According to the Indiana Department of Education School Nurses:

• Provide health care: Administer first aid and emergency medical care; manage acute and chronic conditions; deliver IV medications, ventilator care, gastrostomy tube care, and other prescribed procedures IN.gov.
• Coordinate health services: Serve as the primary contact for health-related matters between students, families, teachers, and community health agencies.
• Health screenings & records: Conduct health assessments, maintain accurate and confidential student health records, and ensure immunization compliance careers.indianapas.org+1.
• Medication management: Oversee consent, administration, and monitoring of student medications per Indiana Code 34‑4‑16..
