Job summary

Brookfield Public Schools is looking for an excellent Part Time School Nurse to support the Christian Life Academy on site. Experience in school nursing and first aid is required to provide care for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The position is 0.2 FTE (approximately 5 hours per week) with days determined by the CLA schedule. Starting pay is $60 per hour. A current CT RN license and at least 1 year of experience are required; benefits are not provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in school nursing and in First aid.
• Provide medical care to pupils, staff and visitors on site.
• Perform health screenings, coordinate referrals, maintain children with chronic health problems, and act as a first responder to emergencies.
• Skill in concussion protocol, crisis intervention for acute illnesses and emotional disturbances.
• Managed difficult medical emergencies involving student injury and provide immediate first aid.

Responsibilities

• General Tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Provide medical care to pupils, staff and visitors on site.
• Perform health screenings and coordinate referrals.
• Maintain documentation for students with chronic health problems.
• Act as a first responder to emergencies and follow concussion protocol.
• Assist in crisis intervention for acute illnesses and emotional disturbances.
• Medication administration as required.
